Re: Unable to install Dragon Age Inquisition from the Disks...

This is correct; I just confirmed this again; Uninstall  Origin, Pop In Disc 1 from DAI; then Run Setup.exe; You'll be asked to re-download Origin. Do so, and install into a Folder where you would like it. Next, Proceed to Continue with Set up by Downloading from Disc.

I get same error.  Tried uninstalling Origin.  Reinstall tells me there is an error updating Origin to download from webpage.  Webpage doesn't load or no longer exists.

I had no problem installing and playing The Sims 4 this past Friday.  Why is this game not working from disk install?

Thank you for confirming this.  I did this as well after I saw your confirmation post.  It is now NOT trying to download from origin.

Today is Feb. 11, 2015.  Got the discs through mail SPECIFICALLY so I didn't have to download them.  Having same problem as all here, but THIS SOLUTION DID WORK!!!

Uninstalled Origin, ran setup from disc 1, when it redownloaded and updated Origin, it went straight to copy from discs, not 15-hour download.  Disc 1 has 2.1 GB copied in about 2 minutest, as opposed to 5 minutes of downloaing and I had maybe a couple hundred MB.

THIS DOES WORK (or, at least, it did for me).
