- dhansell4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@EA_Jason Yes, I have the same problem that others have reported. You should know that EA Help is telling people who are already mad to come and post here instead of, ya know, helping.
I sympathize with you and Darko. I'm not trying to call you out. But EA Help is calling y'all out as the official support vector for this problem, and I spent an entire afternoon of PTO trying to get this game working instead of actually playing the game. Yeah I understand, you don't want to lose all the progress that you have made that you have put a lot of time and effort into.
I am wondering if you can start a new game, save the progress and then continue the savegame on a new game. I guess it's something that you can test by creating a backup of the savegame, but as I have seen multiple reports of this I don't want you to put your save at risk.
I'll get it over to the team and check if there is something known about this.

Welp, looks like I have to eat my words.
Is there a chance that you can create a backup of your save game and let me know if the game launches as normal with a new game?

Now, I'm not a dev, but, seems like there's some sort of install-specific encoding that ties the save files to an instance/account/subscription. Maybe originally intended as some kind of janky DRM that's now working against legitimate players? I tried starting a New Game, it works. You just don't have any dlc. It's like after a month you get your dlc-s deactivated, that's why you can't load an existing game, but you can start a new one.

Yes, they're all installed in the Ea Desktop. Redownloaded and reinstalled the game several times. Unlink and link again to Xbox gamepass, nothing helps.

@Tiberuu Thank you for confirming, just wanted to make sure that you have the DLC installed and that you can play the DLC.
So in this case even when you have the DLC installed, somehow the save doesn't recognise the DLC and that's what I passed on. Yes something like that. I think it is a little strange because it's the GOTY edition.

In order to confirm that I can see the DLC in game I would have to play all the way to where you get access to the war table in skyhold.

It is still being investigated but it is looking like it will take longer than usual.
When there is anything to share, I will be sure to post here.
I had this issue about 6 months ago, and had given up on it after hours across multiple days with support (an especially frustrating aspect was support saying tickets/notes will be updated so next person I talk to will know about the issue and to contact them again after trying something, but without exception having to re-explain and get the same recommendations). Nobody from EA seemed to really acknowledge the issue on the forums back then. I'm really glad it is finally on the radar with the issues properly identified.
I'm having the same exact issue
I have the same problem. It came up when I canceled my subscription and then paid again. Now having ea play (ordinary) I have an error in dragon age inquisition that I do not have dlc although ea play desktop app shows all as installed, I tried everything on the internet. It stopped working on Friday night.
- dhansell4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@EA_Jason Two more weeks gone, another page of players saying, "me too." I don't expect a reply given your last post, and that's OK. I'm just gonna keep poking my head up here until this is fixed.
Same problem here, I redeemed a code for the base game and then I couldn't play the EA Play version of the game (GOTY). Hope they fix it.
Same issue here. 50 hours into this game and suddenly I'm blocked, this is actually unbelievable. I talked with 5 of their support and nothing helped. Hope that someday we can have an answer for this but until then, I will NOT be playing anything else EA related if it means I can just lose my save out of nowhere.
Also having this exact same problem. 80 hours in i hope there is a fix asap
