Redcliffe Chantry infinite loading

I've got the quest "In hushed whispers".  I'm trying to enter the redcliffe Chantry and it loads....and loads...and remains stuck on a black screen with the "loading" icon in the bottom corner.  i've tried rebooting, verifying files, deleting an old save and trying farther back, heck, I've even tried creating a new game and playing all the way to this point on another character.  Still hangs trying to enter the chantry.  Any help would be appreciated
