Removing Quest Tracker

Why is the quest tracker constantly on the screen? Why is the only option to remove it for when there are no active quests or when I'm idle?

It takes up too much of the screen on consoles and it makes me feel like you think I'm an absolute idiot. If I'm immersed in the game I'm going to remember my current objective. When I saw it I thought "oh they must have removed the journal because why would I need reminding if there's a journal?". The journal is there! In the menu! Why would I ever check it if the mission is on screen?

Is there a way to turn it off permanently? I didn't need it in Dragon Age Origins or in any other game. I never get annoyed at games, pretty much everything is an artistic choice but this really feels like you're trying to fool proof the game and it's insulting. There's a quest marker on the map, a quest tracker taking up the screen and a journal! Please add a patch to just get rid of it permanently.

Sorry if this seems obnoxious or angry but something about this really rub me the wrong way, it feels like you don't trust the player to play the game.

I've selected the option to fade it but it doesn't fade, I'm playing on PS4. Please just add the option to turn it off completely so it never appears.

I'm on PC and still annoyed with the quest tracker. It should be so simple, just a checkbox option, on / off / fade when inactive

The 'fade quest tracker when not active' is not a solution, since it means we have to manually hide the quest tracker each time we get a new quest.
