Rogue archer no damage on basic attacks
This started immidiately after updating to patch 10, no matter what I do, neither me or my party members can do any damage with basic attacks with bows, I've tried dozens of bows, so I know they arent glitched.
I didn't see this thread until just now, but I can confirm the issue is with Kitty's Collar. I began seeing this issue in my game, with my main character being an archer. I ran extensive testing to try and figure out what was going on, and finally narrowed it down to that necklace.
Here are some things I found:
If my main character was wearing it, NONE of my archers could shoot properly. The arrows would literally take a nose dive before they ever reached my target.If either Sera or Varric was wearing the necklace, that one person's arrows would miss, but the other archers are fine.
If a mage or warrior is wearing the necklace, my archers were all fine. (Note that I did not test this while trying to wear it on a mage/warrior as the main character.)
(EDIT: On further testing, having Dorian in my party while wearing Kitty's Collar while playing my Archer Inquisitor, I would periodically start having auto attack issues again. It was a bit inconsistent, so sometimes it worked, then sometimes it'd stop working correctly. So it seems even having the necklace on someone else in the party, no matter what class they might be, you can still run into issues with your Archers. If he was wearing the necklace but not in my active party, I did not have any issues.)
I went on to do some further testing. I play on PC, and have Mods installed, so I disabled all mods. Same issue.I removed all equipment except the necklace and the bow. Same issue.
While all my equipment was still stripped off, I changed the bow from my crafted bow to a randomly dropped grey bow. Same issue.
In all of the above cases, as soon as I took the necklace off, everything worked perfectly again.
I'm attaching 2 pictures to this post. In one you can see my arrow striking the ground literally at the foot of a Red Templar, but missing. He takes no damage, and doesn't act as though he's being attacked (moving to defend himself). In the other you can see the path that my arrow takes, thanks to a flame rune. You can clearly see it taking a nose dive and striking the ground long before it reaches my target in the distance.
Without the necklace, standing that far away from my target, my arrows still fly straight even if they miss because the distance is too great. They do NOT take a nose dive because of how far away I am.
I should also say that a friend of mine did not have this problem at all. I can't begin to pinpoint why this might be happening with my character, when it didn't happen with her character. But hopefully putting this information out there will help anyone else that has run into this issue, or perhaps help BioWare/EA with fixing it in a future patch.
