So my voice actor just...... changed..... forever.... [SPOILERS]. Fix?

So um, barring starting a new file, I created my custom Hawke after importing in from DA Keep. As SOON as I started talking to Hawke, I noticed immediately that my female dwarf now had the gender bent Elf transvestite (not sure if that was the intent, but it's what I think it is) voice. Like, don't get me wrong, I know I'm in the minority playing a Female Dwarf Rogue Smuggler as my cannon through the series and continuing it now, but seriously... Bioware...

I know it's not going to impact my "gameplay" but it's seriously annoying. It's ruining any dialogue options for me an it's greatly hurting my fantasy and experience with the romances, amongst other dialogue options. Can I have my voice back? Tried re-loading a different early save. This one screwed the pooch. I'm just a confused little dwarf now. Please help me.

p.s. i still don't even have my fiery digi deluxe items..... can i have some money back if you can't fix these?

We are aware of the Hawke voice swapping issue and it's being worked on. As for your flame weapons, did you check the chest in the hut in Haven where you wake up after the tutorial?

  • i did and i didn't seem to have my nice fiery loots. i have my mounts and all that, no problem, as well as my throne. i did check the chest in haven. it's alright i suppose as i am past the beginning and won't need the loot until my next playthrough. however, is there anything i can do to undo my voice acting change? i mean, assuming you patch it.. could there possibly be the installation of a mirror for download inside of haven / skyhold? that way i can recustomize my inquisitor? i'd be happy to switch it back myself. i just don't want to restart and it's really killing me. i've actually stopped playing the campaign in hopes of a fix....

  • Aren't there any console commands to change the player-character's voice (there seemed to be player-made .erf files for just about everything else in DA:O and DA2) or are we likely to have to revert to a pre-Hawke save?

Yeah I just encountered the same problem ☹️

I have the same female voice as the Hawke so during that cutscene my voice automatically chnaged to the other option. Problem is that after the cutscene ended my voice didn't change back. It is so strange hearing her in a different voice.

I reloaded a prior save and did bot the default Hawke and custom Hawke but sadly to no avail. You can't change Hawke's voice so either option yields the same result. Guess I'll put the story on hold for now and go explore other things.

  • i'm actually really disturbed that this long after release there isn't a fix from bioware. honestly, just put the re-customization vanity back in the game. put it in your private quarters. there's room for it in the bedroom in skyhold. it would allow me to manually change my voice back.

not to mention some of the other issues i've experienced upon completing my playthrough. one, for example, is the new divine. my rogue cannon, without summing up the full story, generally feels mages should be liberated and free. i campaigned, selected and succeeded in promoting leli to the position of divine (or so i thought) only to find vivienne whom is my LEAST favorite character to be in charge of the divine. i thought, ok, so maybe she somehow usurped me because i put her in a box, nope. i found that simply because i talked to viv about her becoming the divine (i never talk to her on purpose) made her the divine. SIMPLY HER SPEAKING ABOUT IT LAST.?

seriously dragon age. there are some convenient fixes you could throw down. i can't sit here and tell you how to do your job, but i personally do not understand why at the very least, skipping all other variable bugs i have found and it's causing me to respond to functional game scenarios as though they were a bug (ex. solas dream dialogue), you can't just bring the vanity back. let me at least change my voice.

thank the maker it didn't think i was a male human, or perhaps that my rogue was a warrior. that would have made things incredibly more difficult. i will say, thank you for acknowledging my decision to be a dwarf, but please, allow me to save the mages and sound the way i chose to. it really killed it for me. the default female voice it flipped to is farking turribad.
