Sound Problems in Game

I got DAI on the 6th and ever since I got it the sound has been skipping like crazy and the game is lagging. I contacted support 3 times already and all the suggestions they gave me didn't work. The computer says that ALL the drivers are updated already, but the DxDiag apparently says they're not and I have NO idea how to update them. I tried to update them anyway and there's STILL sound problems. Does ANYONE know how to fix this? Turning off Skype and Yahoo and everything else didn't effect the game at all so that's not what it is. Does anyone know if there's gonna be a patch to fix this or, what? I got the Origin version on the computer. I tried troubleshooting it too and apparently it BROKE the game. I repaired the game 4 times, and uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times already. Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Also, I'm on Windows 8.1.

  • Please post your PC specs, including:

    Graphics card

    Processor
    RAM

    Sound chipset

    Speaker configuration (e.g. stereo, 5.1)

What is your framerate in the game? You can check this by opening the console (by default the key above tab), typing perfoverlay.drawfps 1 and pressing enter.

My graphics card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics

    My processor is a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2830 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

    My RAM is 4.00 GB

My Sound Chipset is a Realtek High Definition Audio I think. I'm not sure how to tell.

My Speaker Configuration I think is Stereo I unno, I don't know how to tell.

And I'm getting is I'm not sure right now cause the game keeps crashing suddenly. I'm repairing it so, once I repair it I'll add the FPS.

    Minimum*:

    • OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
    • CPU: AMD quad core CPU @ 2.5 GHz; Intel quad core CPU @ 2.0 GHz
    • System RAM: 4 GB
    • Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4870; NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    • Graphics Memory: 512 MB
    • Hard Drive: 26 GB
    • DirectX: 10
    • Internet: 512 kbps up and down

    Yours.....

My graphics card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics

    My processor is a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2830 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

Basically you are playing with WAY below min specs...you will need to upgrade computers to get reliable play from DAI.

As I expected when you said "the game is lagging". Some sound engines rely on a good framerate. If the framerate drops, then the sound will stutter. You have a deeper underlying problem.

You can tell by counting your speakers. Stereo means 2 speakers. 5.1 means five speakers and a subwoofer.

When buying a game, it's good practice to look at the system requirements. Always keep in mind that your Intel HD graphics is not technically a graphics card but an integrated graphics chipset. There are few modern 3D games that support them, like MOBA games, The Sims and a few others. Dual core processors are also insufficient for Dragon Age Inquisition.
