Steam Bought Dragon Age Inquisition Will Not Launch

Issue: Bought Dragon Age Inquisition on Steam. When I try launching game: 1. Steam says game is running -- 2. Steam stops running it --  3. Origin pops up -- 4. Steam says it's running again -- 5. then after three seconds Steam shows nothing is running anymore.

I.E. Game won't start or crashes on start-up

My system:

Inspiron 7559 / 8GB / Intel i7 / Windows 10 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M

Attempted Fixes: (Resulting in No Change)

1. Run game as administrator

2. Run game with compatibility mode (Windows 7 & 8)

3. Have added game as exception to anti-virus. Do not have Avast or AVG

4. Hard uninstalled Origin and then reinstalled

5. Updated video card drivers

6. Disabled Origin In Game Overlay

7. Tried to do Clean Boot, but when I attempted to disable all the services msconfig froze and wouldn't respond.

8. Verified Game Files

9. Reinstalled Game on C: drive (previously was installed on external D: )

10. Cannot find Nvidia 3D Vision running anywhere

11. SLI is not enabled

Please help!

Thank you.

  • Update: Got refund from Steam. I then bought the game again directly from Origin - problem persists still. Have repeated the attempted fixes mentioned above.

    Please help!

In the DxDiag file, your main display adapter is shown as Intel HD Graphics. There's a known issue where some games on Origin don't switch to the dedicated Nvidia GPU.

There's an option in the Nvidia control panel to force the use of the Nvidia GPU. More info here.

    Hopefully that fixes it.
