Stuck in Lothering/ Can't leave the map for trying.

I recently downloaded Dragon Age: Origins via Steam for my PC. I've played the game on Xbox, so know how everything works. However, when I completed the Lothering part of the game and went to move along the highway to leave the map, nothing happens. The characters just stop walking. I've tried reloading earlier saves, going in and out of the pub and trying again, moving away and right clicking on the exit again, but nothing happens. I am effectively unable to continue the game because it won't let me leave Lothering.  Is anyone else experiencing this problem, if so, have you managed to get around it?

  • Any mods installed?  (The "Improved Origin Items" mod is known to cause this issue.)

Do you have the 1.05 Patch installed?  (Last I knew, Steam didn't give you this one automatically.)

  • How would I install this if I have it on steam? When I try and install it it tells me I have to go through the steam client, but steam is supposed to automatically update your game. I had an issue where the other night when I was in Lothering my game crashed as I was trying to leave the Chantry. Then when I tried to reload the save the game kept crashing. I finally mananged to get the game to load my saves again by turning all of the graphics to their lowest settings, but I apparently lost all my time spent in and before I went into the Chantry. Kind of annoying. :/
