In both cutscenes and gameplay my game has awful fps. It doesn't matter if the graphics are on high or low it's just terrible. It's making me really mad because I just got this computer in August and it fits all the spec perfectly. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
What game booster settings did you choose Kinsz1?
Hey everyone. I was finally able to fix it. I tried everything that I saw on here but finally I went to the OPTIONS menu then to ACCOUNT and turned everything there OFF (Share Usage Data, Upload Data to Dragon Age Keep). I am at the Crossroads in the Hinterlands at 1366X768 with custom medium settings and getting decent FPS! Before, when I had everything in the ACCOUNT turned on (I think its mostly the Upload Data to Dragon age keep but turn everything off just in case) I would get low FPS at the Crossroads even at 1024x768. Hope this helps some people.
Ill keep running it and let people know if I encouter unplayable FPS but as of now everything looks good and this is only with an quad core i7 and NVIDIA GT 650m.
Same issue, my specs:
i5 4690k @ 4.4Ghz
Windforce R9 280X 3GB-OC
8 GB DDR3 RAM
On Ultra, High and Automatic presets I get about 30 to 40 FPS in grassy zones, 50 fps in desert zones, 40 fps in Skyhold. Mantle performance is worse than DX11 with frequent hitching and lagging. Using the 60 FPS fix for cutscenes, but still cutscenes stutter.
Kind of disappointed with the performance for what is an otherwise a brilliant game. I see that nVidia users are also having problems, which is a shame. I hope you guys do something quick, I'll be here posting performance reports after patches. Feel free to ask me any questions.
Don't know if everyone here saw this on another thread but on twitter - "Mark Darrah: the threading model in DAI isn't happy on a dual core. We are looking at it but it will be a while (if ever)" then later added - "Mark Darrah: we are investigating the quad core issues"
The comment seems more directed at the people getting menu blackscreen/crashes but hopefully this will include a fix for our issues too.

I am playing on a damn GTX 980 SLI + i5 3570K at 4.2ghz playing at 1440p ULTRA, my FPS bounces between 40-80 FPS occasionally, and there is nothing extremely extensive in this game to drop my FPS to 40 while just wondering in hinterlands (out of combat)!!!
The problem is :
I tried LOWERing setting, from ultra to high, and resolution to 1080p to always get above 60FPS, it doesnt work
NO MATTER HOW I PLAY WITH SETTINGS FPS DOES NOT GET EFFECTED BY IT, 1440p and 1080p has almost same FPS, changing settings doesnt work (at most 1-10 FPS from ultra to medium), besides FPS DROPS don't make sense at all, it happens while staring at a door sometimes. There is something clearly wrong with game.
And this computer plays BF4 at 100-144 FPS on 1440p everything on ULTRA, as far as I know they are same engines, and some of BF4 levels are as much as detailed (maybe more with all explosions and reflections) then DA:I
Performance fix for GTX690:
deactivate "tessellation", if you don't search for the effect in the world, you will not notice it, it also reduced SLI flicker for me -> my fps went from 40 to 60 in Hinterland, RedCliff is still in the 45's but before that it was in the 30's.
Force Vsync and tripple buffer in NVIDIA control panel removed microstutters/cutscene stutters.

Hmm I wonder if that fix works for gtx 780. When enable vsync and triple buffer in nvidia cp, first should turn it off in game?

No mate, let me tell you what happens:
I play everything at full, GPUs work at %70-75 at 1440p I get 40-80 FPS occasionally
I lowered settings GPUs work at %60-65 at 1440p and I get 40-80 FPS occasionally (that's happened when I lowered tesselation just like you said)
This unused power doesnt covert into extra FPS
There is clearly something wrong here
