That door is a bit weird, just read before you interact, if it says the room you're already in move around a bit until it says the room you want to go to then interact.

I had experienced this problem too on the xbox one after the latest patch. What worked for me was saving before I tried to enter or exit the ballroom or vestibule respectfully. If the loading glitched and I got kicked back to the room I was in I had to exit to the title and load my save by the door. Typically it would let me through the door after that, but on some occassions I would have to go through the entire dialogue of one of my advisers before trying the door again. The dialogues also seem to reset for them if you load back into the mission for some reason. A further issue I noticed was that if you are being called back to the ballroom and you save before the door, exit out of the save, and load back in then it breaks the timer for getting fashionably late or actually late for some reason. On my next play through I will pay more attention to what door it is asking me to interact with, because it was mentioned above that both sides of the doors interaction box is possibly showing up.
