Update. Saw other threads like this and tried the AVG trick and I don't know if I did it right but it still won't work.

@MissMajoraHearts you should have some error code when you get this message.
There are a couple of things that could prevent you playing: the antivirus, the firewall, missing redistributables, the UAC can still be enabled and you are not in the administrator on your PC. Worst case scenario, the Windows may be the problem
Both antivirus and firewall can be either disabled. Antivirus can be set to exclude the game's installation folder from monitoring and scan. The firewall can be set to allow the game to access the internet. The redistributables can be installed (when you install the game you should see a small window at some point with certain redistributables (Visual C++ redist, DirectX, .Net Framework and so on). You need to check the boxes, so the game would install them. The UAC can be disabled.
A dxdiag file would also help to identify the possible problems.

Hi, have you solved this problem? as I seem to have the same problem, game will no longer load just keeps dropping back to the "pick up where you left off" page

Right there with the same problem. Went online chat with Origin and their fixes did nothing.
I'm more than a little annoyed with spending money and now I can't play the game.
Have you tried running DAI from a desktop short cut and right clicking it to "run as admin" instead of starting within Origin? Doing this, as well as creating exceptions in my AV (Trend Micro) for both the game as well as Origin, allowed me to load and play without issue. I was having starting issues since switching to a new PC with Windows 10 for not only DAI, but MEA, FO4, and Witcher 3. When I started creating desktop short cuts and exception in the AV, those problems went away. You may have already tried this, but since it worked for me I thought I'd mention it.
Everyone posting for help in this thread has just about wasted their time, since they didn't post ANY real info needed to even start helping. I can guess and say the MOST common issue is with anti-virus and putting in exceptions for DAI, Origin, and DAI saves folders fixes a HUGE number of problems, but to actually give any real meaningful help, INFO must be given by those asking for help. There is a wonderful sticky at the top of the forum, listing what info is needed, and how to post it....and it seems almost NO ONE ever reads and follows it. Just coming on here and saying my game doesn't work and I am annoyed may make you feel better, but doesn't do anything meaningful about getting the help you need. At a MINIMUM an exact description of your issue, and a DxDiag file post is needed, plus any mods, or things you have previously tried also helps.
If all you want is to feel better, then mission accomplished, if you want help, then please post the info per the sticky and maybe one of us regulars can help you get your game going......
@MissMajoraHearts wrote:Why can't I play my Dragon Age Inquisition? Every time I try and play it either says it has stopped working or it immediately shuts out. I haven't been able to play it for a long time. I tried updating and "repairing" it but it doesn't work. Please help!
I can answer your question:
You can't play Dragon Age: Inquisition because you can't seem to read the basic troubleshooting tips that are already provided for you. If you had checked the pinned topics at the top of this forum and read the one about Avast/AVG, then followed the instructions found there, I'll bet you'd be playing the game right now. (Although I recommend removing those worthless "free" products and getting a competent one.) And if not, and you'd read how to post a question and what information to provide when doing so, we'd know a lot more than "It won't run."
Between the two AV products that can't figure out the difference between a legitimate program and a virus, and people trying to run the game with rigs below minimum specs, (especially below min. GPU specs) 90+% of the "Endless black loading screen" or "It shuts down immediately" complaints are covered.
But since you can't be bothered to do the minimum to help yourself, I don't see why anyone else should be bothered to help you. I certainly won't.
I agree with your post and feelings, but the way you posted(IN MY OPINION) isn't the best way or most diplomatic way of posting. I fully understand the frustration with people asking for help, and not putting in the effort to allow us to help them, BUT a post such as yours, especially just after one so similar of mine, comes off as combative to me. In my opinion a combative post makes the chances of a constructive dialogue of issues less likely and hostile or defensive posts much more likely. I personally probably didn't post what I needed to say the best way, but if you truly wish to help people, diplomacy is a must on this or just about any other site.
Maybe I am reading your post all wrong, but it seems to follow your name, some attitude, and while accurate, I would hope to see a bit more diplomacy. If I am wrong, then I apologize.
