Why do I need to activate my game everytime I want to play offline ?

So here's the deal: I downloaded Dragon Age: Origins (since Origin was giving it for free). Since I have some internet issues for the moment, I often have to play it offline. Except that everytime I try to launch it offline, a window pops up asking me to activate my game online ! I've "activated" my game at least 4 times now. Is it normal and will I always have to do it, or is it an issue that needs to be fixed ? I didn't have this problem with the Sims 4, or the Sims 4 CAS Demo...
Does it mean I will never be able to play Dragon Age offline ? Or am I doing something wrong ?

  • Having that problem as well. I've been playing DAO for years, now that I have to use craptacular ORIGIN it's giving me this **bleep** problem.

    Exactly the same. Everytime I want to play offline, get this message asking to "Activate" the game.

    Tried to play with Origin offline, but don't work. How to fix it?

    Yeah, I have had this issue as well, its bloody annoying.; I have owned this game since launch, I have preordered everysingle DA game including awakening and have purchased all dlc for origins also. I only attached it to my origin acount when I purchased DA:I and I added DA:II to it as well figured I may as well as they will all be in one place then and have had nothing but problems since then.

  • I have this issue as well. I doubt we will get any answers besides the common "We are aware and are working to fix it!" followed by months, years or forever of it not being fixed.  Origin/EA doesn't seem to care much about its customer base.

  • Same here, absolutely annoying to the point where I'm beginning to consider going for physical CDs and not buying anything through Origin from now on...

    I have this exact problem, but I found a way to work around it. >_>

    You turn on your internet connection, launch the game via origin, and then you turn off your modem/router and the game works normally. That's what I do, cause I don't like playing online as I see no purpose in doing so either. <.<

    I'm only having a problem with game freezing 3 times and then it crashes to desktop saying it stopped working. I've already complained about it here and on nexusmod forum, but so far...nobody has offered a solution.

    Trust me, someone offered the solution to patch the game. I did that and regretted it, cause 1.05 patch breaks the game and makes it unplayable, and I had to re-install the game twice because of that damn patch. -.- So I'm not patching the game again.

    I can't have a normal gameplay when initiating conversation with NPC causes freezing as if the game is refreshing and then after 3 times of behaving like that, it crashes. I've managed to finish several walkthroughs (noble female, dalish elf, city elf, noble dwarf) and I have casteless dwarf, female mage, however, I have created male mage (for blood mage ability, since I forgot about it with female mage) and now in Brecillian Forest, the game keeps freezing and crashing. I don't know how to go around it. -_-;

  • I just moved a few weeks ago and do not yet have internet access (having to borrow the neighbor's crappy net just to write this) So needless to say this is a bit of an issue because i dont want to have to keep bugging my neighbors every day just to get the game to run, especially since im certain one of them does drugs when his wife isnt home

    Exactly the same as me, I also preordered all dragon age games including expac(awakenings) and DLC, and like you I only started an origin account when I had to for DA:I , so I added the other games in the series to it, and now its a pain in the arse when I want to play games Ive owned for years and have on DvD, its a * take to be frank.
