Does taking Origin offline make any difference??
Try deleting the profileoptions and profileoptions_profile file in the save folder.....

Looks like you are running two Nvidea cards SLI?? Does disabling one make any difference??
Do you have any anti-virus or network safety software that can be disabled for a short time??
What about a clean boot of the system?? Are both Origin and DAI set to run as administrator??
Hi thanks for the response!
To answer your questions,
- Both Origin and DA:I are set to run as administrator. Offline mode doesn't help.
- I have wiped the \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition folder entirely as well as tried a friend's configuration who has it up and running just fine (I just copied his entire folder, didn't work).
- I am actually only running a single card. A single gtx970.
- I don't have any anti-virus or network safety software installed currently.
- I have tried restarting the computer yes. But I have not re-installed windows if that is what you mean? .

explains clean boot....means you just load what you need to run the program and drivers and not all the assorted * that usually gets loaded, this helps eliminate program conflicts causing issues with games during troubleshooting.
and I asked about SLI cause it listed your vid card twice with two different resolutions and refresh rates...which seemed kinda odd....

Ok I'm going to try clean booting. It sounds like it will help isolate the problem.
And as for the double listing, that is because I have two monitors hooked up to the same card. I already tried booting up with only a single monitor and that did not help.
UPDATE: Performing a clean boot did not help. The only programs I launched were Origin and DA:I both in administrator mode. Origin was in offline mode. I had the overlay disabled in-game.
When the game launched, it still sat there at the black screen with the green icon in the bottom right fading in and out.

I'm getting this too, now. Game was fine yesterday, I noticed Origin patched on loading today (apparently an actual Origin patch; I've already been using DAI 1.0.6). System completely freezes on the black screen with green icon in the corner (I have to cold reboot to get out).
No other changes between yesterday and today.
