I'm getting this too, now. Game was fine yesterday, I noticed Origin patched on loading today (apparently an actual Origin patch; I've already been using DAI 1.0.6). System completely freezes on the black screen with green icon in the corner (I have to cold reboot to get out).

No other changes between yesterday and today.

Nevermind... fixed. I, too, have a GTX 970. For some odd reason, my MSI Afterburner overclock settings were maxed out. It's possible one of my kids did it, but also possible something else bumped the sliders up. Hope this helps someone else.

I don't overclock my 970 or my cpu so that isn't what is causing my issue.

Also, my computer does not lock up like that. I can alt tab out and back in. The green icon remains flashing in the bottom right corner of the game window.
