Xbox One Crash Wont load past "Press Menu Button"

Quick rundown, turned on my Xbox One this afternoon. I had quit the game entrely before I turned it off last night.
Now this morning it was loaded onto my character still and he was in the game menu of the main xbox menu interface.

So wondering if I didnt recall collectively about last night. I went to go save it to check the time difference between my saves.

It didnt save at all. It got stuck at the save screen for just underr 10 minutes. Where I prompty turned it off, even though the saving icon was still rounding itself about.

Now when I try to load into a disc based copy of the game. It looks the intiial screen, but when I press the 'Menu' button as prompted it freezes at the homescreen where mages and templers are in walking order. And when I hop in and out of my xbox home page it will eventually lose its image and remain at a black screen.

Aware that I more likely then not corrupted that save at that time. It appears it crashes the whole game not just the save game.

Could be that it is trying to load my corrupted save for the "Continue" menu and its current state is locking the game.

I have also been looking for any way to access my saves via console and try to delete that specific save. Not possible. Either you delete the whole save for that game on your console. Or the other option is to delete all saved games in general on console. NOT what I plan on doing.

Any feedback is appreciated. Just wish this aspect of the game was like Skyrim. If you ever corrupted a save state. It had just ruined that save state. And this being a game where I save most frequently. Losing a few minutes is not a big issue if your game can be resumed at an earlier point. Not the case here.

Even then, on an xbox 360, you could go into your console storage settings and see all of your saves states, and delete any one of your choosing. Why is this step being taking back on new consoles? Shouldnt we have more functionality/accessibility on a newer gen? Will be returnin said purchase if a patch or fix can't be imminent.

I have a workaround. I tried this and was able to relaunch game. Go to xbox one settings. Network settings. Advanced settings. alternative mac address. clear. shut down and unplug console. Wait two minutes then start back up. worked for me.

Same here, I simply did a hard reset and it worked when I booted back up. not an issue since.

I did the hard reboot to the xbox one and it did get me past the press menu screen.  I was not able to start my settings first though. So did the reboot without the settings / network clear.

It still get me up and running at least for a while.<G>

Thank you! I've been stuck here for the past week!

  • Hold the off button on the console itself until it shutsdown (it's sort of a reset mode thing). Then when it start don't log back on xbox live just start the game and then you log back on xbox live.

  • What if you're set to log in Live automatically? Can I change that somewhow?
