Haven`t tried the patch yet, but I found a solution that works for me after trying everything suggested here and twitching my graphic setting.

In the power options - edit power plan I set minimum processor state at 80% and maximum at 90% and the stutter is completely gone for now. Hope that it hepls for u guys!

Hey Everyone, I have found a fix for my frametime spikes/stutters. Unfortunately, this only applies to Nvidia RTX4000 graphics cards.

    Try the following:

    • Disable either Frame Generation

    or

    • Leave Frame Generation enabled and set DLSS to Balanced and not Quality.

As soon as Frame Generation + DLSS quality is on, I can reproduce the frametime spikes in the starting area of Arlathan.

However, as soon as Frame Generation is deactivated (DLSS remains on Quality) or DLSS is set to Balanced, the frametime spikes are gone and the game runs much more smoothly.

I have tested the whole thing on two systems. And both systems were affected by this bug.

    System 1:

    Windows 11

    Ryzen 7 5800x3D

    Nvidia RTX4070Ti Super

    32GB DDR4 RAM

    Samsung 980 Pro

    System 2:

    Windows 11

    Intel Core i7 13700k

    Nvidia RTX4090

    32 DDR5 RAM

    Samsung 980 Pro

@EA_IlliumIf video material (with the settings and the solution) could help you, I would be glad to record something and make it available.

@EA_Illium I reverted my CPU voltage values to normal and the patch helped a little bit, it seems some performance enhancements were made, however the stuttering comes back after like 30 min. So it was an improvement but I don't know if the developers are fully aware of the stuttering we describe in this topic. I will undervolt my CPU again to keep playing in the meantime.

Unfortunately the patch did not change anything for me. If the PC goes to sleep or hibernates, the next session stutters again has has framedrops (easy to check since it already happens in the start menu where you see the Lighthouse in the background)

Still the only workaround is to never let the PC sleep or to re-start the PC for me.

Please let the devs know, thanks.

Hey @Aleewayne, are you using Nvidia Reflex? In another thread, someone told me he had to activate it to "On+Boost" in addition to DLSS Balanced.

!!! thanks, that actually helped a lot, there is still a small stutter but significantly less than before.

@AleewayneSame happened to me lol with another solution, I think it's just the restarting the game that gives us a false sense of improvement and then it's just back again, RIP

@EA_IlliumIt does seem to have improved for me, though it has not fixed the issue entirely. Here is a short video from just now, after the update. The stuttering isn't bad right now, but I will keep the game on for a while and then test with another character who is farther along in the game, to see if the problem comes back full force.

I'm on 7900xtx and I've had horrible stutter and latency on both KBnM as well as controller. I had to out my AMD to default settings, turn off all RT, 4K native. Tweaked some other setting that probably have no Bearing. Kbm works okay now, controller is completely unplayable. Still have these moments of control loss while me character tries to run off cliffs or petrify in front of an enemy and taunt them for a crit to the face.

tried playing a game on Steam no issues.

I feel I need to make ppl aware that on a 4080 Super 16GB

When everything is maxed including the Fade touched settings

Vram becomes an issue once you apply Frame generation...

I get very low FPS Drops at times at 4K, the game runs fine apart from this setting

I think the game is not properly optimized for the 16GB vram being allocated ?
