- @norcani I had read an article that Inquisition was not released in India based on the suggestion from the then distributor. That LGBTQ could be an issue and EA just went with it. So if the distributors are suggesting them this, then why did E-Xpress have it for pre-orders? Surely then this time the distributor didn't suggest any such thing.
Only other possible scenario could be some EA exec who never bothered to get an understanding of the current situation in these places because he/she already has a racist idea of what the situation already is which they believe in. There is no rational or reasoning in this decision. There is no distributor speaking into EA’s big ears. If that was the case, games like Cyberpunk, Baldur’s Gate 3, Sims 4 wouldn’t have released in India or any MENA countries.
This is just EA’s dumb decision to block any countries they think might cause them legal issues for LGBTQ or Pan Sexuality representation. Even this does not make any sense as Sims 4 and other Dragon age games are available.
If it is just a pricing issue, they would have resolved it by now or atleast informed us. This is just they don’t want to admit that they made a dumb decision and look weak by rectifying it.
Also they might be thinking that it is not a big enough market to allocate resources to push a button or EA just hates brown people.
C’mon EA look at us and speak up!Buying a game shouldn't be this hard 😩
- @AccioWombat8705 One reason (beyond completely unfounded belief in human decency) I'm not sold on self-censorship theory is blocking activations and not just purchase. It's just so bizzare they went an extra mile on that front - surely, blocking the page would have been enough to say "we are not selling the game" and conform to whatever imaginary bans they are afraid of?
I know for a fact that after many publishers pulled out of russian market in 2022 people could still get games from other regions through gifts and nobody cared. And Russia actually has very repressive and actively enforced anti-LGBTQ legislation in case war wasn't enough - Fawkescarys11 months agoSeasoned Vanguard
Good morning fellow sufferers, are we ready to be disappointed once more?
Good morning to everyone. Another mr "Riddler" (?) day. EA PLEASE SOLD THE GAME...SOLD US VEILGUARD. WE WAIT FOR 10 YEARS. IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM SOLVE!!! JUST ADD A OPEN/CLOSE CONTENT BUTTON AT MAIN MENU (GAME MENU) AND SOLD IT NOW
I'm not sure if even EA knows anything about it.
@berkgi92 Huh, that's definitely weird. I remember checking out the epic games store right after i watched the trailer, which was basically just when it aired. It didn't let me access it. I actually had it wishlisted there since it was the only store that still used TL. So it was available there for a split second for google to pick it up? Or is it just translating and converting for us, that also sounds unlikely. This is all very confusing. But yeah, i can see it when i search it too.
@berkgi92i think this is just a weird glitch, pretty sure the publisher of the game is aware which countries/regions can pre-order the game and which ones cannot and why
I feel like this decision was made by only a few people, and they didn't inform the EA HELP team about it.
I just watched a youtuber named Orhun Kayaalp, this guy went to watch the demo and saw the game backstage. He talks about the game not being available in Turkey calls it a drama and doesn’t wanna touch on the subject and brushes it off. Are these people just paid not to say anything so they can keep their invitations to these previews??? because this is ridiculous 😂

@gnceThose game journalists should be ashamed of themselves, they should side with us as ''fellow gamers'' but instead they side with the corps...
We have right to know what will happen next. Just say we are off on TURKEY. First reason...and sorry about it...we want hear! İ dont wanna wait it
Ive been tracking the global top selling games list on Steam for the past week, The Veilguard only got up as high as 103. It is 2 months away from release, they announced a month ago that it is Steam Deck verified and wont use EA App, they also dedicated a part of their big marketing push to how much work they put into PC version but right now it sits at number 119 in top sellers list. Meanwhile Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 keeps going up the ladder and is at number 67 right now with 6 months to go before release. It is sad to see this happening to Dragon Age, because first KCD game didnt gain that much attention at release and its sales only started increasing over time with discounts and word of mouth. But there is the fact that KCD 2 is only banned in Russia-Belarus and has regional pricing applied, while The Veilguard is banned in 15 countries and its price is flat 60 everywhere(even higher in Poland in a really weird way).
EA is trying very hard to ruin this franchise and Bioware. They are just throwing away major game spoilers on discord, journal videos, trailers to get some kind of attention.
Still many people might be waiting for reviews to buy.
So someone used a VPN to “relocate” to New Zealand to play Star Wars: Outlaws a little early (definitely wasn’t me), opened EA app by mistake instead of Ubisoft, and Veilguard was available to purchase. Bought it, showing in library as preordered, hoping it works as normal?
It works as normal, thats how I purchased Inquisition ten years back on the release day. Thats the only option for Vielguard as well, or wait for the Third party Global Keys and lose the Preorder bonus.
@Jedasdd That doesn't really mean much, pre-orders wane and wax, especially during times of marketing. Veilguard got up to #3 in the top sellers list on Steam and stayed pretty high for a few days following/around the 15th August reveal. It's liable to keep shifting as they continue to drop more trailers. The recent combat ones were unlisted when they dropped, and the compilation was only made public like 30 minutes ago so!
Also it hit top 20 on the PSN, there's a post about it on reddit right now.- @kampori I don't have another credit card other than my local one, will this even work?
- @kampori It was actually the EA support staff who had suggested this to me back during Inquisition.
Will look to buy this via steam only considering there won't be denuvo (hopefully since steamdb has a history listing that says it was removed and also that the game is playable offline) rather than on EA. If you are using VPN
Steam - Buy through a new Account. They tend to ban accounts if you take advantage of their regional pricing.
EPIC - Impossible. Need a country Specific Credit Card. Even Paypal is out of question.
EA App - Use Paypal and purchase. It Works!

Also it hit top 20 on the PSN, there's a post about it on reddit right now.It is a really worrying situation with such a strong focus on pc and Steam with 2 motnhs to go and it cant even break into top 100 while games that can be seen as competitors and months away are doing much better. Maybe IGN will do a better job marketing it with their month long coverage.
@JedasddI mean, it *did* break in though, like I said it was literally #3 at its peak and stayed pretty high up for a while before dropping out - which is natural. The other games aren't doing "much better", like I said: pre-order metrics such as that are completely unreliable and vary depending on new trailers and such. You mentioned KCD2 there and it had a new trailer drop only 5 days ago that has had over a million views, of course it's higher up (and that's coming a week after the Veilguard one, and yet even that has slipped back to the 60s as you note)
- @Jedasdd man someone's gotta do a better job than bioware who insists on spoiling their own game
- @velvetassasin do you have any idea if i wanna buy it through steam if it also requires a country specific credit card?
