Camera constantly drifting (PS5)

Since launch I've had a problem with the camera drifting, it's mostly a problem in menus but I can see it very slightly in game as well. Makes it extremely difficult to do anything, especially character creation wise, because I'm constantly fighting the rotation.

Maybe you need to increase the dead zone in the controller settings or you need a new controller. Might be stick drift. Do you have a second controller to try?

I had been fiddling around with settings, but just to be safe I checked out different games...and the problem wasn't there at all!

Some games have a very high build-in deadzone and some either don't or default to a very small one. Sometimes you can change it, sometimes not.

  • I'm having the same problem my right stick keeps drifting panning upwards in menus and in game on PS5. Adjusting dead zone only changes how fast it does it. It's a brand new violet PS5 controller. Works fine In other games.

  • Im having the same issue. And i've actually walked off a ledge because of how quickly the camera just rotated to the right on its own. I've had instances where i am just standing still and the camera just constantly rotates counterclockwise around me. Its getting very annoying and im tempted to stop playing until it is fixed

Crap, that sucks. Is there an option somewhere in the PS5 (console) settings to calibrate the controller or change dead zones globally?

Not really. And like I said. It's brand new. It works in every other game. There also seems to be some confusion In the map about which stick controls the zoom in/out because both sticks do it though the UI says only the right does it. .

That's weird, because I can confirm that it totally works as it should in the Steam version with a PS5 controller.

  • Yeah I’m experiencing the same, the camera will often just drift when I’m playing, I have tried multiple controllers and adjusted dead zones with no success.
