Character Creation blinding me, Hair is made of sparkles

when I load into the character creator, I am greeted by a bright white light and cannot see any of the rooks. i can fully interact with the UI, choose customization options. If i change the scene to the nighttime one, i can make out my rook barely, but every hair texture is made of sparkles. I have updated my drivers, my windows version, messed with the graphics settings, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game.

UPDATE NO2: so i just found out that my computer's GPU is not strong enough to run Veilguard, so that is why it is crashing, but I don't know if that explains why the background was so bright. Sorry to everyone else who has this issue, I hope you can get it figured out!

    Having the same issue! Drivers are updated, minimum specs are met. I turned off bloom and it helped me be able to see the Rook presets standing in the menu, but everything else looks bright and white behind them. Hope there's a solution soon!

    Question:  What video card and drivers are being used??  Have you tried repairing the game, so the game files are checked for corruption or missing??

     

    Also please list any options being used such as up scaling, or monitor settings that effect graphics??

      Im on a minisforum venus un1265, with a built in graphics card (Intel(R) UHD graphics). Ive put in some screenshots of the intel driver and support assistant information about my PC. I have repaired the game, deleted the shader cache, and verified my files through steam. Im not sure what you mean by upscaling, but if you're talking about in-game, I've tried with and without the options below upscaling.

        That is the issue......minimum specs:Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970/1650 / AMD Radeon R9 290Xm

         

        The game doesn't support Intel graphics, and thus the fix would be to buy a Nvidia or AMD graphics card to play the game on.   IF Intel comes out with a graphics driver that allows play, then you got lucky, but usually this doesn't happen for at least a couple years, if at all, sometimes the intel forums will have work arounds or things to do to allow play on a new title that isn't supported, but don't look to Bioware/EA to fix this as they have put out what hardware is needed to play and your system doesn't meet the minimums.

         

        So either refund the game if available, or upgrade the system to be able to play reliably.

    Exactly same here, only time I can see Rook is in appearance edit after selecting other lighting options and making them bald.

    UPDATE: i still have the issues with the white screen, but hair is not made out of sparkles anymore. however, the game crashes right after you finish and try to get into the actual game.

    Hey there everyone, 

    I wanted to check if anyone is still seeing crashing at launch after updating their BIOS. If so, be sure to try the steps on our post: Dragon Age The Veilguard - Technical Assistance & Bug Reports | EA Forums - 4985821

    After going through the above troubleshooting. If you continue crashing at launch or when trying to start a new game, please let us know the following. 

    • EA ID (PSN ID/Gamertag):
    • Which platform or client are you on?
    • Are you getting an error message?
    • If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...
    • If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number

    We can use this information to help make the team aware of the issue and to investigate the issue further.

    Same problem here! I only downloaded the game and no bugs were so far, but the cc is just a plain white screen (Steam)
