Title screen, Varric doing his monologue and character creation all play sound with no problem but the second I got to the first cutscene with my rook and then into Mintrathous the sound is constantly crackling and cutting out.
Have tried every possible audio setting in game and updated drivers.
(On windows 10)

Just downloaded Patch #4, the issue is still there.
This is absolutely ridiculous. It's been more than a month after its release. You guys are adding filters to photo mode and some people can't even play the game because of something that is unacceptable and hasn't happened with any other recent title.
Moderators, you really should say something or give us a way to refund an unplayable product. I am not joking when I say this is absurd.
Thankfully I got my refund in before my hours hit on steam. I just hopped in though to see if the patch fixed anything. That's a no.
i've visited this particular thread at least once a week to see if EA has responded to any of the comments regarding this and knowing that after four patches it hasn't been fixed or addressed is ridiculous. there's no point to finishing the game when you're missing half of it due to the numerous audio issues.
Issue still persists in patch 4.

Fresh out of a discussion with both EA support and Steam.
Apparently, the EA agents understand the problem and would issue a refund despite the "19 hours of playtime" Steam lists, but they cannot intervene because I made my purchase through Steam.
Steam, however, refuses to refund me despite explaining my situation because "we have a 2 hours window, be careful you don't leave your game open when you don't play :D"
So the 19 hours I spent troubleshooting on this non-functioning game a month after its release don't mean anything and I can't even get my money back? For a bug I couldn't know existed because it doesn't happen in the CC?
I spent 60 EUR on this title I cannot play at all, because people here can't do anything and people over Steam don't want to?
Can an administrator of some kind at least intervene on the matter? At this point I'm so angry I'd say I just want my money back. Never has something like this happened to me in my years as a gamer.

Do you think they'll fix this problem this year? I bought the game on Steam, and I've already played over two hours (I've tried everything to fix this problem - nothing helps). I can't return the game anymore. Furthermore, I've been waiting for this game for ten years... 😢
Still having issues even after patch 4, losing my mind over hereeeeeee xD (laughing face so I don't come off hostile but really it's making the game unplayable and this has been an issue for me and clearly others since launch).
Also, it would be really nice if the patch notes would at least acknowledge the issue? Even just to say that someone is looking into it? I feel like I'm getting gaslit by patch notes. Also having some general latency issues, the audio popping tends to be worse when it's lagging but is present when the game is running 'fine' also. Though the game runs like it's in early access.
Technical information, though it's not going to matter because everyone's tech seems to be all over the place for this issue:
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4GHz; 16GB Ram DDR4; Running on SSD; Geforce RTX 4060; My drivers are up-to-date and I don't have sound enhancements.
Downloaded the latest patch and the issue with missing sound effects in the game is still there...Haven't been able to play the game yet due to the sound bugs and it's really frustrating.
