Dragon Age Veilguard PC crash

My DA Veilguard keeps crashing and is practically unplayable. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to work. It took me three seperate tries to get through character creation before my monitor went black and my PC wouldn't turn off. Each time this happens I have to switch it off by the mains because nothing else works.

 

All drivers are up to date
Windows is fully updated
Antivirus software is operating well
Updated BiOS
Verified integrity of game files
Set game to run as administrator
Reconfigured preferred setting in NVIDIA control panel
Deleted shaders in local files
Soft reboot my PC
Cleared cache and flushed DNS

 

I am at a loss.

    If anyone is crashing whenever the game is attempting to load something or saving, try moving/reinstalling the game into your C: drive.

    Okay, so I disabled XMP, managed 15 minutes and then the game crashed on me.

    I will try and disable XMP and see if that helps - hopefully it does but I don't have a lot of faith.

    I just hope EA/Bioware can sort this out for players.

    disabling XMP profile on my Bios don't change anything -same crash and reboot  at the same time and same location (juste before a bridge).

    Only thing that improved the 10-20min crashes for us was to disable XMP profile and cpu boost in bios.

    The same for me - whith an 7900 xtx gpu. All driver are up to date - game  instaled on a M2 disk - shader deleted - game always crash whith 10-20 minutes of playing  (even in menu the game has crash when a was in menu option to lower the music)  the game crash and the Pc rebooot. its not a heat ou alimentation problem (i run many other game more hard tu run like spaceMarine2 at full ultra option or Calisto protocol full option whitout problems).

      Same issue as you, same GPU. 
      The game crashes, the PC is completely frozen and restarts on its own.
      It usually happens in a dialogue or when I reach a room and assets are not loaded for some reason, that includes floor textures. 

      I monitored the heat and power usage, nothing of note to be seen. 

      • AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
      • RAM: 32GB DDR5
      • Radeon RX 7900 XTX

      Game installed on a dedicated SSD, not the system SSD. 

      I run many games in full ultra, like you and I have no problem. It's the only game that crashes like that. Disheartening honestly.

        Quick update: I managed to solve crashesh and system reboots by updating the bios to the latest version!

      I have your same issue, yesterday i played the game fine, meanwhile, today after 30ish minute of gameplay the whole pc reboots.
      Did you manage to find a fix?

    I've tried everything the same as you and still get constant crashes a minute or so into the game (or when I start a cut scene) and now because I've spent so long trying to fix it I can't even refund it :(

    Same for me, I have done everything they have suggested, and I crash within 10-20 minutes of playing.

    Can you try disabling xmp and seeing if the crashes stop? then it would be a ram issue. Ram always works perfect at stock speeds. This is how you find out.
