INVALID_POINTER_WRITE Error
Hi, I'm trying to play this MASTERPIECE for like 1 week and I don't know what else to do. Whenever I want to start the game it crashes randomly. After starting it whenever I see the menu or start moving in game my game crashes without any error. I've opened the mdmp file with WindowsDebugger and have seen the INVALID_POINTER_WRITE error. I was getting this error before formatting the pc and after format it still happens. I've verified the files, removed shader caches, lowered the resolution, lowered the graphics. It's still the same. What really should I do to play this game? It shouldn't be this hard. I've played so many games that requires more hardware then Veilguard and didn't get any error like this. This is an example I get on WindowsDebugger of your mdmp file.Game No Longer Runs
Hi all! I have almost 200 hours in this game - I played it obsessively at launch with very few issues. I have a a 3060 Ti graphics card, a 5930K CPU, and 64GB of ram. My PC runs titles like BG3 without issue on Ultra graphics. Over the last two weeks, every time I have tried to boot Veilguard it completely crashes my system when on the Shaders Compilation screen at launch. It'll sometimes get to 100% but immediately crashes - my peripherals die, and the only thing still going is my fans. All of my drivers are up to date. I tried doing a fresh install of the game, and that did not help. Really frustrated because I want to pick it up again after a few months away. Any help would be appreciated!Arlathan Forest specific spot crash
This problem first occurred probably a couple of weeks after updating my AMD GPU driver to 25.5.1 last month during my fourth playthrough some time after the start of Act 2. Soon after I left the Veil Jumper base, I noticed some frame rate drops and as I traveled along the path to the docks, the game suddenly crashed. This has happened multiple times and sometimes I got lucky enough to reach the area near the docks (picture provided) before the game crashed again. I had tried everything but none of the methods below worked. Repair the game by verifying game files integrity on Steam Downgrade the AMD GPU driver to a previous version (25.4.1) Reset shader cache on AMD Adrenalin Set graphics to "Low" Disable triple buffering Switch off all mods Here are my PC specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Radeon RX 7800 XT 32GB RAM Confusingly, the game didn't crash (but still suffering some frame rate drops) whenever I fast-travelled to areas away from the docks and the Veil Jumper base. I like this game and I don't want my current fourth and future playthroughs ruined just because the game crashes every time I walk out of the Veil Jumper base and head to the docks.Frequent crashes & load errors
The game's stability has severly declined since I got it through Epic a few days ago. The first day I had 2 crashes; figured it was a problem with my PC since it was overdue for some TLC. The day after, it crashed 4 times... Third day I had to fight to even get it to work at all and I started to run in to the issue of not being able to load autosaves, which becomes an especially large problem when the game frequently crashes out of nowhere. Any time I try to load an auto save I get the very informative message: "Load error. An error occurred while trying to complete your request." where it tells me absolutely nothing about what is wrong and how to fix it. Luckily I temporarily solved it by loading a chapter save, then loading my latest auto save afterwards but as of today this no longer works. I am only able to load temporary chapter saves and manual saves, which might not be that large of an issue if it was me who decided when to quit the game, but as it stands I have almost no say in the matter. Thankful for any advice at this point. I realize some specifics about my computer may be required to troubleshoot; I'm not the most tech savvy so I'm not sure what's important to write down right off the bat but if anyone can help I'll gladly look in to it and reply ASAP!my usual spot dragon age veilguard crash

Whenever I launch the game, I get this DirectX error message saying that my video card has been removed. It's been like this since the game came out. I've tried everythings I could find on the internet to fix it, to the point I had to reinstall Windows because my other games were no longer working either anymore. But even that did not solve the issue. Out of frustration, I refunded the game after 2 weeks. Now, 2 months and 4 patches later, the game is on sale on Steam so I thought I give it a try again. I updated my graphics driver and launched it but unfortunately, I still get the same error message (See the screenshot in the attachment). It's really frustrating that patches are coming out that fix minor audio issues or add useless functions like a photo mode, but nothing is being done about this. Another tread on this forum addressed this issue but it was marked as 'solved', even though the issue is not solved at all for many people. Link: DirectX Error | EA Forums - 5003098 So I thought I open a new thread for those who still have this issue, as I suspect the EA mods are no longer looking at posts that are marked as 'solved'. Hopefully by posting it again, I keep this issue alive so that it will actually be addressed.Want a Refund
I've tried everything to make this game work. I dont have the money to buy a SSD and it wasn't in the essential requirements of the game. I'll play a bit and it'll crash and I have to do something funny to the save to get it back. I'm sick of doing work arounds to find it crashes again. I bought it on release and no signs of it ever being fixed. Absolute joke. Anyone else as mad as me? Anyone got their money back on this broken game? Not launching
So, im having the same problem as many have already reported. Everything you can possibly think about is up to date, i already ran the terminal as an administrator and used the commands as suggested in other thread, i literally tried everything and nothing works, the game just wont launch for anything.DATV Won't Open
As of a week or so ago my Dragon Age game WILL NOT OPEN. I have tried everything I can think of (uninstall/reinstall, run as admin, delete shade cache, check file integrity through steam, updated drivers) NOTHING has worked. When I go to open the game (through steam or using the desktop shortcut) it will pop up like the game is trying to load, but it never get farther than a white screen before crashing and closing the window. I am lost and utterly heartbroken. I have over 100 hours in the game and only 6 achievements away from completing the game entirely. Please somebody tell me there is a fix for this.game opens up to black screen then crashes.
So I recently re-downloaded this game to try to start a new save file, however its not booting up, it just opens to a black window then closes. I am playing on steam. Here are the things I did to see if it fixes it: - uninstall and reinstall - cleared the shaders folder - verified installed files - updated all drivers - checked firewall settings - checked BIOS if needed to be updated (it did not) - installed on different SSD - I checked about the driver settings about the size of folder for shaders - my NIVIDIA card is 566.36 as suggested older drives work better. - nothing has changed since I last played, no antivirus or anything. It has only been 2 months since I uninstalled to make room for another game. I literally cannot think of ANYTHING else that might be an issue. For computer specs, this is my computer: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/acer-nitro-n50-gaming-pc-black-red-intel-core-i5-14400f-1tb-ssd-16gb-ram-geforce-rtx-4060-win-11/17699723 I have been wanting to try playing it again, as I think I was still in the tutorial/early start when I stopped playing. Please help me.Solved
