I'm on PS5. I've tried cycling the power, resetting the cache and the database and reinstalling the game several times but it continues to crash after the opening monologue scene from Varric. I made it to the character creation screen only one time of of like 30 attempts and it froze and crashed halfway through character creation. I installed the new patch today but it's still having the same issue.
At least you get to Varric's cutscene. The game crashes at launch for me. I have done EVERYTHING to fix this including completely resetting my PS5.
I contacted EA Help and apparently this an issue that they are aware of that may have been exacerbated by today's patch but I have been having issues on PS5 since launch. But as of today the game won't even load. In addition it corrupted my save and I lost 45 hours of playtime that I was able to cobble together with an additional 12-15 hours of troubleshooting time.
This is a disaster.
