Graphics Issues - Black Boxes/Artifacting

Small black boxes are flashing on screen constantly. Tried toggling a bunch of settings in Display and Graphics but can't get them to go away. Also tried to get through character creation to see if it was just an issue there, but it persists into the game.

Any help to resolve this issue would be hugely appreciated!

Attaching images below, harder to see in images vs. video, but hoping it helps identify the issue.

  • Posting a new comment. This is just for AMD, sorry for the Nvidia guy but checking in the settings, it appears that the artifacting only happens when FSR is enabled and its set to Balance. Quality has no issues.

Thanks! Changing FSR from Balance to Quality worked for me.

This is not just an AMD thing btw (I know your solution applies to AMD) it's happening to me, on the Nvidia 4070, regardless of whether DLSS is on or not.

Thank you this really seems to work! You are awesome for finding it. Have fun playing

  • I'm also running into the same issue however it happened after finishing the very first mission of the game.

    GPU: 7800XT

    CPU:5800x

    32GB ram

    OS: Windows 11

Also updated CPU and GPU drivers as well. I'm thinking this may be specific to AMD. I haven't seen anything mentioned really on intel/Nvidia hardware.

Downloaded update, but still no change unfortunately. Still seeing transparent black boxes flash in. Tested out another game (Horizon Forbidden West) and no issues just in the office chance my GPU is artifacting so it's very much I'm assuming an issue with DA:VG and how it's optimized for either the 7800xt or AMD drivers. Someone at EA needs to look at this thread.

Chiming I'm to say I've had the same issue, with the same 7800xt gfx card. So definitely seems to be an issue with our AMD cards. Only started happening for me after the intro sequence.

My specs are pretty similar. Going to try flashing the latest BIOS to see if it fixes the issue. Will report back.

      GPU: 7800XT

      CPU: 5700x

      Memory: 32GB

      OS: Windows 11

BIOS update didn't fix it. I'm starting to believe this is something AMD will have to fix with a drivers update.

I found out what my issue was, I was using upscaling at quality but didn't notice the games own dynamic resolution scaler was switched on, After turning this off upscaling worked perfectly. Maybe it will help some of you.

I have a similar issue. It wasn't there yesterday and AFTER the issue cropped up I updated my drivers but it's still a problem. It's a big box on the left hand side for me.

This happened to me too. Dont know what to do. At first, I thought it was a problem from my monitor but it's not. I'm running on RTX 4070Ti Super, I9 14900k system.

It's really ruining my experience 😭

Update: Resolved mine thru updating my bios. I didn't know that my bios has new updates.

Forum won't let me edit the previous post, I'm on an Nvidia 4070.

Changing upscaling setting in display settings worked for me. AMD FSR to quality like OP said or just switching from AMD FSR to Intel xess.

7800XT as well. The weird thing is it wasn't happening to me at all, since launch, but just began with the first patch.
