Load Error When Trying to Summon Companions

On PC, via Steam. I've reached a "summon companions" prompt in the Lighthouse, and it seems like we should be heading into a zone change after we all meet up, but every time I've tried to progress, it tells me it has a load error and kicks me out to the main menu. I've tried a hard stop of the game through task manager with no success.
