Lost save progress (ps5)

Lost 3 days of progress when booting up Veilguard on the PS5, manual and auto saves all gone even though I had even played it earlier on the same day. Saw other similar posts here a couple weeks ago but no word of any fix or comment from EA support.

Is it worth holding off on playing for a day or two to see if the saves come back or is this just an epic feature? Really disappointing that this has happened and is happening to other people, the only other time this has happened to me was on Jedi Survivor - also an EA game so I guess there's a pattern.
