completely agree with you, im going through a save minrathous + trying to romance lucanis run and doing my best to hopefully regain his trust fully and be able to romance him still. I PRAY that this is just a bug or it just takes a bit more time bc it makes 0 sense to lock lucanis while nevemancers still get to pursue her. it would be incredibly unfair if that were the case. i just saw on reddit that someone in late game was unable to unlock lucanis’ hero of the veilguard after doing everything for him and his quests in a minrathous save run. definitely smells like a bug
Definitely tell us how you fare, I want to do a similar (save Minrathous & romance Lucanis) run. There's weird conflicting info floating around, I've seen it mentioned that you should also get Treviso strengthened to two stars beforehand and that can still be a good ending? Some people saying it's harder to romance, some that you'll be locked out of a specific quest you need...
I like that it's a new game, it's exciting to figure this stuff out, but I don't want to waste hours on what might be a bug or a decision with unintended consequences. It sucks bc saving Minrathous makes the most sense for my current Rook (Shadow Dragon, so kind of sworn to this thing, and while it has more defenders, Minrathous is strategically more significant bc of the Venatori presence), and Lucanis is the romance option that sounds the most interesting by far
