PS5 Version Constantly Crashing

I have put in nearly 45 hours into Veilguard and really like the game.  Enough to constantly battle an issue I have had since launch.  The game on PS5 constantly crashes.  I have been able to play for prolonged periods only to have it have either an app crash or a system software error that will corrupt the database.  Sometimes I am able to rebuild the database and it will run fine for another period of time.  Then it will start to crash.  Sometimes it crashes in cutscenes.  Sometimes just as I am walking around.  Sometimes during combat.  Sometimes right at launch.  I have deleted and reinstalled the game three times now.  On the third time I completely reset my PS5, updated the system software and reinstalled the game.  Now it won't get past the launch screen.

Is there a solution that I haven't tried?  I am able to play other games just fine so it is limited to this app (although I had a couple of similar issues with Metaphor ReFantazio, but managed to always fix it by rebuilding the database and/or storage and I played that game for over 157 hours).

I would really like to play the game but it is so broken right now on PS5 that I just can't see playing it until I can get a permanent fix.  Is this something that will be fixed in the upcoming patch?  I have been playing in performance mode.  Is that a possible issue?
