Razer Tartarus Pro not properly supported by Veilguard

The Tartarus Pro is intended to be the all-in-one solution for many games to the point that it's essentially replaced my keyboard for most of them.

As long as it is plugged in during Veilguard however, the Dodge button simply does NOT work. Not even on my normal keyboard, it only starts functioning as soon as it is unplugged. I sincerely hope this issue is fixed sooner rather than later. Not even sure if this counts as a bug or technical issue so I'll put it up as both.

Sincerely,
A Passionate Gamer

I just made a post on this. I need a fix. It also happened in the launch of battlefield 2042, same frostbite engine.

I have found a workaround. The issue seems to be that windows recognizes the tartarus as a game controller instead of a keyboard. I opened the device manager with no other game controllers connected. Under Human Interface Devices you will find HID compliant controller. Disable that. Rebooted game and now it's working with tartarus. You cannot map any game controller keys to the tartarus but all other functions seem to be working so far.

I have the same issue with the tartarus. But different issues on different classes. Warrior profile the dodge doesn't work. On Rogue profile dodge and hip fire do not work. Right mouse shield toss works on warrior profile though, so that's kind of wierd. Unplugging tartarus fixes it. I'd really like to use my hardware though.

As Hermitsfool notes it seems to be related to the gamepad being considered a controller. I'm still using an Orbweaver but had the same problem of neither dodge or hip fire working.

I found a slightly simpler solution using the in game settings though - set the controller trigger deadzone to maximum.

Setting the Control trigger deadzone to maximum made it so that my mouse stopped working and I couldn't control anything anymore, that's weird that it's working only for some people.

  • Steam: Enable Steam input
EA app: Set Trigger dead zone to max. (Old fix)

Looks like they updated the game and broke it at the same time.  Now I cannot play as I cannot dodge.

  • New Workaround(?):

    1) Set the Controller Trigger Dead Zone to 0.37. You need to figure out where it should be so that it does not move you to controller only.
    2) In Windows Device Manager disable XBox Controller.

    This worked for me 100%.
