Restless Spirits Quest Bug

Once I place all 4 wisps the doors opened, but I decided to leave and return later to complete that quest. When I returned after completing other quests in the same Necropolis area, I came back to the wisp puzzle door and it was shut once again, so I am unable to go through and complete the Restless Spirits Quest now. Please advise!
