Rook won’t stop walking

I’m playing on PC through Steam and my Rook will not stop moving forwards on her own. I’ve tried using two different Xbox controllers as well as keyboard inputs. Regardless of what I do, Rook will not stop walking forwards if I try to move her even the tiniest bit. It’s making gameplay frustrating as she barrels into enemies and I’m forever herding her away from edges/walls.
