Stuck on "Press any Button to Continue"

I had to update my graphic drivers

Try the following if this is still happening!

• Unable to continue past "Press Start To Play" - Try making changes to Windows Defender, steps here. 

My drivers are up to date. My windows is up to date. Windows Defender controlled folder access is off. I've started in compatibility mode with Windows 8. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've repaired the installation through Steam. I've restarted my PC multiple times. My husband was able to progress past the Press any Button to Continue, and he mentioned something about linking my game to my EA account. Could that be a problem?

Same problem here, Defender doesn't fix it. Keyboard/Mouse work fine to cancel out of the previous loading screens (whatever comes after the shaders), but the "Press Any Button" screen just makes a sound whenever a key is pressed, but nothing happens.

Edit to clarify: the game does not crash, but will just sit at the "Press Any Button" screen forever.

Yup. That is exactly what is happening. Been troubleshooting this for going on 4 hours now. Beyond frustrating.

Windows Defender controlled folder access exception for Dragon Age Veilguard.exe seams ot fix this

My controlled folder access is switched off completely, so that can't be it I'm afraid.

Mine were already updated and a re-install also didn't fix the issue.

I've tried it both with Defender controlled folder access off and with an exception for the executable. Still not progressing past Press Any Button.

Anymore ideas? Nothing seems to be working and I cannot play. Been doing this for over 4 hours.
