Stuttering pause screen when not paused

Just had this happen.

Paused the game during a cut scene because my husband started talking to me. 

Unpaused and the cutscene continued but the pause screen kept on stuttering back on and off the screen without affecting anything else. This continued after the cutscene ended and was resolved by restarting the game.
