Vram Bug! please patch this Problem

play Dragon Age Veilguard at maximum settings. Textures and level of detail on untouched + ray tracing max.

The problem is that the vram runs completely full after a while. I'm playing on a rtx 4080 super 16gb vram with a 7800x3d and 32gb ram.

As soon as you change the Map in the game frequently, the VRAM runs completely full and the fps drop from 90 to 50 fps, for example!!. But when I restart the game I get 90fps again. At least until the vram is running full, then the jerking starts. please patch the problem. The more you change the Maps,  the worse it gets. only a restart helps... for a short time

  • I have the same problem. After playing for a while the game starts glitching out until it eventually crashes (or I restart the game).

I don't think this is a max setting problem; I run on "High", on an older gaming laptop (RTX 2070, 8 GB VRAM), and I was impressed with the performance and overall appearance of the game at launch. Since patch 1, I've been experiencing similar issues that I assume are related. Before the patch, I could play as long as I wanted with multiple zone switches and no lag or stuttering except after multiple sessions (basically just required restarting the computer once daily). Now I notice that after a few zone switches, I start getting stuttering, video lag, and frame freezes that cause my camera to **bleep** to the ceiling. The issues get worse if I reload a saved game after continuing play. I'm now having to end sessions and restart the computer multiple times per day.

Uh, ok, it "bleeped" where I used an innocuous, everyday word for "a quick, sharp, sudden movement". That seems a bit excessive considering some of the language in the game :)

I have the exact same problem. RTX 3080 ti with 12GB of VRAM. After playing for a while I get huge stutters and low fps and indeed in the settings it seems that the VRAM is on the red.

If it was like this from the start I'd know I have to lower settings. However the game run without a hitch for many days. I don't remember exactly when the problem started for me but I don't think it was with the first patch. I think the timing was closer to the release of the second patch.

  • My system maxes out its VRAM, and then starts using system memory, but I haven't seen any loss of FPS from running it on a mix of High/Ultra settings with no RT turned on, with a 3060.
