Can the "in-game overlay" button be customized?

The default button assignment for the in-game overlay is 'Shift+F1' , and I've recently started playing a game where it'd help to change this to something some involving the function key at all Am I...

@AX3I_ I am not sure if I'm misreading your post, but the actual spot is an checkmark box that you can unclick as an option. If you are requesting for other functions for In-Game, then I believe there are none that apply.
