I understand that you may be frustrated by issues you are having with the EA app but if you are having any let us know and we can troubleshoot them with you.
I've been using the EA app since before the beta and have run into the odd bug but nothing that I wasn't able to get sorted. In fact, at this point I kind of prefer it to Origin.

…so far, so good? Like, I launched my game once from it, lol, I’m hardly an expert on it, but it seems inoffensive so far? It was just the forced upgrade that provoked the AAAAAAAA.
The main issue was that despite having an Ethernet connection to my gig fiber, upgrading seemed to take an inordinately long time. Like 30-40 minutes long. This could be because I have a very aggressive firewall (lol I run Suricata, I test things at home), but at least half of that seemed to be the actual install rather than the download. Maybe Origin felt me and tried to keep on keeping on, because it noticeably sped up after I manually closed Origin in the tray.
EA App: You must now uninstall.
Origin: I think not, friend. Places to go. Games to launch.
EA App: No, uninstall.
Origin: I’m busy, come back later.
EA App: You must uninstall!
Origin: [rude gesture]
EA App: I can wait all day…
Me: Fine! Origin, shut down.
Origin: [whimper]
Me: Sorry.
Origin: [poof!]
[ETA] Unlike some others, my mods and saves all seem fine. (The Sims 4, FWIW.)
