A few day ago I downloaded the EA app and I was happy to find out that it had a offline mode, BUT it has issues. I don't have WiFi where i live and I am using my phone's limited amount of hotspot data to login in and play. Usually when I log in with my phone's hotspot, I switch it to offline mode. I disconnect my phone's hotspot from my computer and keep the EA App in offline mode. When I am done doing that process I play my Sims 4 game with the EP, stuff and kit packs that I have had since the beginning of this year to current ones. And when I am done playing Sims 4 I save my game, exit to the main menu and exit the game entirely. And when I exit the game I don't log out of my EA app and I kept it on offline mode and put my laptop to sleep. The next day when I got back on the EA app still in offline mode I started my Sims 4 game again but it read on my save file that there were packs that were required to play and it gave me all the logo symbols from all the packs and kits that I had. I was pretty upset and I had to restart the app with my hotspot and do the offline process all over again. Is the EA app on a timer of some sort and I would have to constantly restart the app and log in every time I want to play and stay in offline mode? I never had this problem with Origin app because I can leave it on offline mode for a long duration of time and put my computer to sleep every time I am done playing the Sims 4 and go back on to the origin app the next day without using my hotspot and resume playing my game without pack requirement issues. I am hoping this can be a fix for the near future.

Totally agree with what you've said and all the frustrations shared here. I routinely play in Offline Mode after Sims patches because I play with mods and I don't want to update my game until I know all mods I use are up to date. Playing offline allows me to temporarily use a non-updated game until I can update. The "Offline" Mode in EA App is AWFUL. It is not even a proper Offline mode, since the EA App tries to reconnect to the internet after a couple of hours at which point is gives me the UNRESOLVABLE ERROR popup, and makes me restart the app. So then next time I have to play I have to log in all over again, and put it in Offline Mode manually again. It is beyond annoying, especially since the App doesn't even autofill your email address and you have to manually type it every time. I am not saying Origin was perfect by any means, but it was better than this garbage..

Sims 4 mostly...EApp crashes even during play, at least to an extent I can ignore the crash window and keep playing.However, I am a customer who has been around ever since EA ate Westwood studios... You'd think they'd want to keep people like me happy....But, no, management needs to be kept happy apparently... And I just wonder if this last update I was forced to get was the result of management issues.Management issues that suffer from "...Lets keep people as much as possible.. Nevermind they don't want to be online...." To EA App devs who might actually read these feedback forums: Stop giving us what we don't ask for. We Don't ask for more online features. We don't ask for an unstable platform. And we certainly don't ask to re-login every time the App suffers from "unresolvable issue" crashes! We ask for stability, functionality to play offline without the need to login every time we want to play.Is any of that not understandable? Is any of that too much for the management to understand? That it should be the player's own choice on if they want to go online or not whenever they want? Why do you seemingly push the online play when very few have asked for it? Remember Simcity 5 much? I apologize for the vitriolic tone to this, but I along with so many others are probably beyond ANNOYED that you messed up the EA App with the last update. I was perfectly able to play Sims 4 to hearts content last week without having to worry about EA app. And now....If it is at all possible to do so, find a way to undo the issues this last update has caused, and give us an option to revert back to last stable version at the very least. Would also be nice if someone would explain why both Origin and the EA app are so similar in apparent design... No ability to truly play offline.

@dcwestby Exactly. I think this is a plot to force everyone to constantly stay logged in whether we want to or not. Which is a shame because I prefer single player story driven games like the Mass Effect Trilogy that doesn't require online connectivity. If this continues, I will absolutely cut ties with EA and not spend another red cent with them.

Origin was always bad, why force another platform on people, just use Steam and make good contracts with them...Anyways, in the full release of the EA app offline playing still does not work.Seriously EA?

@kathydana it's a irritation to the highest mark with this EA App. I downloaded origin again myself and it was slow on my HP laptop. It was going to take and hour and fifty-four minutes to update the game which I found it to be weird. EA needs to fix this problem with the offline mode on the EA App because I found out yesterday that the EA App is connected to the bio time (time and date) on our computers PC or Mac. And what I got out of the information is that in offline mode (connected or disconnected to a internet service or hotspot) our games are set on a timer so it tells EA App to restart and refresh the app. It's BS! 🙄🤣

Beyond annoying? It's absolutely infuriating, seeing as how it's arbitrarily denying access to something we've paid for. If I didn't know better, I'd swear EA was trying to go out of business.

@Moondwellersimz The NFS20.21 game I purchased from Steam also has the same issue. In the case of complete disconnection, starting NFS21 through Steam cannot automatically open the offline mode of the EA app and start the game. It still requires online verification, which is really a headache for me. I really like the NFS series and I really hope to be able to open the game anytime and anywhere

I feel like the EA app may possibly make sense for online multiplayer games, but I only play the Sims 4, which is single-player and I don't use the chat function. So I put the app in offline mode, which usually means that I have to log in once a day "due to a persistent problem!" You mean the "persistent problem" where I put the app into offline mode?
Okay, I admit it. I went offline partly because I'm waiting for the inevitable hotfix for this. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Face-Bug-Eyes-and-mouth/m-p/12486735#M247700 I'll be back! I haven't purchased Growing Together yet and want it, and the Greenhouse kit looks sweet! but in the meantime I would prefer my Sims not all be cross-eyed and develop shark teeth. 😉 But I digress.
(I do also use mods.)
I admit that this seems like a trivial issue compared to the other people here who are losing their packs, etc., but... it vexes me.

i'm having excactly the same issues as xochiquetzl_xkvn; i don't want my game (Sims4 in my case too) to update and therfore start the app in offline mode. It doesn't take long for the app to force me to restart out of offline-mode ?! and on top of it, it doesn't seem to remeber my login-data and i have to type in everything again. It is very inconvenient!
