How to disable EA App/Launcher Opening/Appearing when I close EA games

Whenever I close an EA title after I am done playing it, usually via Alt + F4, the EA app opens/appears. How would I disable this, so that when I close or alt + F4 out of a game nothing opens as a result??? I downloaded all of my EA games through Steam, if that helps. If you are a dev, remember that NO ONE NEEDS MORE LAUNCHERS. If you could help me that would be nice.

  • @Ibeleive104 you can't they want to force you to look at their storefront again. it's a "feature" apparently that they aren't interested in fixing.

That would really only fix the issue if it could be triggered automatically when you exit a game - for me it would be Apex legends.

Often, when I quit Apex I'm already quite stressed because I've lost due to horrible matchmaking or cheaters and the LAST thing I want is for the EA app to pop up in front like a slap to the face when I've already started doing something else and am focused on that.

  • Seriously, the threads should not be locked or closed until AFTER the issue is resolved?!?

(both X not closing the app as it should, and the app putting itself in the foreground against the user's wishes).

Resolved doesn't mean telling people "that's how we want it" resolved means fixing it so that it stops violating how users want THEIR computers to function.

  • Wow, thank you - a method that actually works without the user having to do something each time - I guess I can still launch Apex from the Desktop icon and not have to switch back to the other virtual desktop.

I wonder if I can make it automatically go to that other desktop if I turn on "Open automatically each time Windows launches" or such.

  • When I quit Apex Legends (which was running under the EA app) I'll start reading a web page, or watching a video, etc., and then suddenly BAM it (the EA app) pops up in my face, on TOP of the window that I WANT to be in front and it's EXTREMELY annoying/aggravating/frustrating/stress inducing - it almost makes me not want to play any EA games it's so irritating!

If I suffer from a stroke due to the stress you can bet I'm sending the medical bill to EA!!!

  • It is not at all OK for it to AUTOMATICALLY un-minimize.  I vehemently do NOT want/accept this behavior - it's utterly infuriating.

What idiot thought this was OK/acceptable?  If the user chooses to minimize the app, LET IT STAY THAT WAY until THEY decide otherwise!!?!?  PLEASE!!!

After years they STILL haven't fixed this obnoxious bad behavior, really?  Insane.
