EA Desktop is a forced transition that user want nothing to do with. You, EA, keep promoting the "next generation of PC gaming, but instead you're forcing users to be vacuumed into your poorly developed platforms for game delivery.
Between the Origin Client promoting EA Desktop, and the posts in this forum suggesting to "Try it so you can provide the feedback, good and bad" ..
Here it is:
We don't want the new client, and how difficult it was to find a way to provide this feedback speaks to the disingenuous nature of the feedback you actually want.
If you wanted feedback, you wouldn't make us jump through hoops to provide it, but I did it anyway because the EA Desktop client is that bad.
Uninstalling EA Desktop uninstalled Origin without warning, why? Why was there no warning about this? Uninstalling anything but the actual app you intended to uninstall is just unprofessional. This should have never made it past QA. This app is not ready for prime time.
Origin is, for lack of a better word, an adequate product. It is functional, does what it says generally, and despite corny patch notes that say nothing and disrespect the people that actually care to read them, is reliable.
EA App for PC, is actively breaking things for people. This alone is indictment enough to stop. Just stop. Look in the mirror, and recognize you have made a product that does more actual harm than good, and stop. Talking to a corporation, is like talking to a wall, but those in charge good god what have you become? Not people that care about the end product quality, or the end user experience. This is what we get from maximizing rather than optimizing. Oh the budget... but I digress.
Can you please revert your changes to the recent EA App update, that no longer happily coexists with Origin and breaks user experience for, gee, the new games it was made exclusive for, as well as games that Origin can play perfectly well for, golly, 99% of the people?
That is my question. Can someone take this in stride, recognize a chain of bad decisions for what it is, and work some more on what is obviously poorly written beta software (and this is my kindest description) before alienating further your customers who still have to use your services for legacy games.
My future business? That was lost years ago. I do buy your best titles on discount from key resellers though, so thank your many developers for their fine work.
(Yes, I am fully aware this is a "Community Forum" and that no one from EA actually actively participates or cares about anything other than that sweet shareholder profit. All of you in this community are welcome to point out flaws in my argument, ignore the post, report it, whatever. You might even agree. But that would maybe break the format of this place... no chance a design decision there lol)
I used to get so excited seeing the EA logo pop up. The gamers want to play your games, help them.
- @A_Bridge_2_Far I have been emailing ea for the last two hours asking for a corporate phone number and they will not tell me. I have gotten 8 different emails to use live chat and ea will not allow me to after blowing up on them. my issue started when they told me not only to uninstall origin but also reinstall it but there is no origin download link anymore. any time i try to open my game it pops up an empty beta window and wont open. i did not have this problem until they forced me to uninstall origin on 10/23. the last time i was able to play my game was 10/23. i am livid and all ea wants to do is block me from contacting them.
Hi EA!
As you now are forcing us to use the EA app instead of origin i have a few questions.
1. Where do i turn on the FPS counter i the EA app???
2. How do i set to 24hour clock for my private messages??? Its in AM and PM now and nothing we European ppl like.
I don't believe that we are being forced to use this pile of thrash, even now it still lacks basic features.
- STG_Mordin3 years agoRising Hotshot@kennedyrankin Here is a download link for Origin Thin Client:
https://origin-a.akamaihd.net/Origin-Client-Download/origin/live/OriginThinSetup.exe
Be sure to close Steam and uninstall the EA App first, then install it. When you down load Origin again, a prompt forces you to switch and down load EA app. How do you use origin and get around the prompt that forces you to download EA app?
- @KobeT4Hunnid you cant, they are forcing everyone over to EA CrApp, for good reasons if it was finished but that is not the case!
- @STG_Mordin dont bother, it will just force them to install the new app from recently, you launch it and are greeted with a " move to ea app " and you cant go around it.
