It means ea app not stay minimized in tray after exiting game like EVERY NORMAL application, but opens main window. Found bat file somhere at forum forcing stop all ea processes and services and run it every time after closing games - in some casess ea app is much worst than origin(((

@kurator84 @SaltyAussie, cheers for the explanation.
When I launch a game via the EA app, it automatically minimizes de app and puts it in the 'Show Hidden Icons' section of the taskbar. When I then close the game again, the app reappears.
This doesn't work for you? Or do you mean you'd like it not to work that way and that you would like to have options?

I would like the same feature that origin has where if i start the game from a shortcut ea app doesnt open for no reason and re open again after i close the game. This being a toggle called show origin after gameplay.
I dont know why there are still important features missing like this missing from the replacement for origin because origin is still better than the ea app.

@SaltyAussie, I, I get you now! Cheers for the feedback. I will make sure to pass it on to the teams. 🙂 The EA app starts running whenever I close out a game from the app, how do i stop this its hella annoying

Click on the 'Show hidden icons' button at the bottom right near the clock and then right click the app and then click Exit.
Thanks.
Well, any answer to this? it is really annoying having the APP open in desk when I close a game (Battlefield 2042).
No, I guess that is not what he meant. It doesn't matter if the app is running or not in "hidden icons", we just want the app not to show ENTIRELY (new window open) when we close a game.
- @EA_Barry , so I launch BF:2042 from my desktop through the Steam link. When I close out of the game the EA App opens up. Is there a way to prevent this? It's kind of annoying.
- @EA_Barry then you can not open/run games... if we close the app. we need an option to stop the app from popping up whenever we change server in BF games. Don`t need the app popping up for every action we make in games... - here to play not pray
> "When I then close the game again, the app reappears."
Yes, it does this EVERY TIME AN EA GAME IS CLOSED, and we're asking (hell, I'm begging at this point) for the EA Desktop app to give us the option to stop this activity from happening. Literally every other game launcher except Rockstar's * launcher gives users this option... INCLUDING ORIGIN.We shouldn't be punished for having EA Desktop set as a startup/background app (as it's configured by default) by being constantly harassed every time we open a game from our desktop (or other launchers such as Steam where you sell your games, or 3rd party launchers like Playnite that aim to solve the problem YOU and Epic created - every company thinking they need their own launcher and storefront) or every single time we exit one of your games (whether we launched it through your app or not).
We should be allowed to add our game's execution files to the desktop and launch them directly without being harassed by your storefront all the time.
I can't speak for everyone, but typically when I quit an EA game, it's not to start another EA game; it's because I want to use my computer for something else.- @ Same problem here. I hate this *' app.
Nobody likes this app. It is a downgrade from Origin in most if not all aspects. The only answer you will get here is to go the tray and close it. which is answering the wrong question. Good luck getting anything else out of anyone with EA at the beginning of their name
Please make it stop!
It's so intrusive and annoying at this point that it makes me think twice about even playing BF2042.I don't need to be reminded every time that yes, the app is installed and yes, it's inferior to all it's competitors (including the crappy Epic Games Launcher).
Edit:
The only thing it does is that it reminds me of to actually exit out of the app and close all background tasks it's working on.- EA_Leeuw3 years ago

Hi all,
The feedback about this has been passed on to the EA app teams. Unfortunately, that's all we can do here through the forums.
I don't understand, with xbox game pass you MUST have installed ea app to play ea games, xbox game pass only worked with ea app and not with origin, that was too annoying because steam only worked with origin, and in top of that, you just can't have opened both of them. That was not enough, all the negative feedback to erase ea app and focus in origin that through all the years started to become something not so hateable, i just can't understand why you pushed this, nobody wants this.

Hey @Kasparine,
It doesn't sound like this has something to do with the EA app feedback that is being discussed in this thread. Please keep it on-topic.
A small correction to your post where you mention that Steam only works with Origin; this is not the case. Maybe this already discussed, but is any way to start ea games logged in windows logs? For example "..event 10987 exe started, 10988 - stopped" - it gives us way to auto kill all ea running garbage like this malware popup window.
Well. im almost done it but there is problem: filtered game in logs closes itself first time when ea crapp not started earler and process killer perform his job immedeatly=) Need way skip first game closing to separate it from MY game exiting=)
here is link HOW TO. its russian, but maybe someone found it usefull
How do you not know what this means? Does the EA community manager not play EA games? When you close an EA game launched through the EA app the app opens. It's annoying and OP is asking if there's an option to disable this. Ubisoft Connect, Steam, GoG Galaxy, etc. don't open their respective apps when exiting games launched through them.
- @kurator84 Do you still have that bat file?
When is this issue being fixed ffs... The topic has been up since December! This is intrusive, annoying and completely not welcomed! Passed to dev team excuse is cheap and not sufficient. Do your jobs for at least once!
This is honestly just so annoying, I despise this app so much. It just does everything that you don't want a game launcher to do. It pops up after a game, it doesn't remember that you want it to start in your library but instead pushes it's stupid adverts at you, it is just barebone and yet pushed to be used as if it's actually finished, it has useless features in the settings menu. It's just everything that people hate about game-launchers and I really want to uninstall it but I can't.
- @Keeboard-Cowboy I agree with you a million percent, EA has lost it's touch with their customers. The EA app does everything a pushy three year old would do when it wants candy and boy are those EA execs horny for some candy.
