2 Games Still Work Without My EA Play Sub

Hi all.

My EA Play sub ran out some time ago and I never re-upped. Got the notification of the removed titles, no issues there.

HOWEVER:

Both The Saboteur and Simcity 4, which I never bought but only played through my EA Play sub, both can still be launched and played manually through their respective installed locations. Other titles however that I played through EA Play, such as CnC Generals Zero Hour that I try to launch manually open the EA App which (accurately) states I need to resub to my EA Play or buy it, something like that; regardless it quite rightly stops the game from launching.

So why do Simcity 4 and The Saboteur launch (manually) as if nothing happened?

I feel like I stole 2 titles without trying to lol. Did EA give these away? Is this an oversight? Am I a pirate? /sarc

What's the explanation here? I didn't buy these titles outright, as they do not appear in my library on the app.

    I would love to. But it's not an App isue.

    It's precisely because I launched them manually through their installed executables directly that they worked. I didn't even have the App running.
