I'd genuinely love to know why its so hard to allow any characters and letters when using launch arguments. There are commands for games that use a slew of different symbols for commands that EA App are keeping out just because certain characters can't be use. Like you cant even put a path to a folder in because it contains a "/" you know, the thing folder paths use. That's actually a joke. This thread has been up for 6 months and they still don't have this.

The problem isn't that it's a "Nice to have" feature. The problem is that EA decided to completely nuke the origin launcher, for example, without reaching feature parity first. So paying customers who need a specific feature to enjoy their games, which is the whole point of paying for a good game, are stuck between not being able to use the origin launcher anymore, and the EA launcher being beta-quality software (because it'd be too mean to call it alpha software).
I understand that launch arguments/options might not be a high priority. But considering that there are complaints dating back to late 2020 / early 2021, it's reasonable to assume that such an issue should have been handled by now. The least EA can do is to track the progress of that specific issue in the Trello board that was previously posted.

actually Lee, it is. many players need to use lower resolution which then forces us to use stretched resolution which is where the problem lies. launch options are absolutely necessary for many players using stretched res. Every player i know or watch that uses stretched res, uses steam because EA launch options arent an option. i was forced to install EA and cant use origin because of EA. Literally cant play apex now, so it is necessary for many

I know you're a community manager who isn't in charge of changing/fixing the application, but you have to see this has been messed up for a long time. It also seems to have no priority with the team launching the app's updates yet so many people are relying on what (I would imagine with my nonspecific coding knowledge) is a relatively easy fix. This issue isn't even listed in the "Known Issues" section of the Trello board. I see no reason why 1 person on that team can't take maybe 10 seconds out of their day to update that Trello board to at least show this issue has reached their attention.
On top of that. Some people do find that it is a critical feature. It may not have been your intended tone, but all you've done is show us that this issue isn't even a priority to you, and I would even guess that you have "passed this on" to the EA app team as something low priority which continues to help no one. I don't know what kind of disconnect there is between you and whatever ticket center the developers use but it needs to be fixed along with this issue already.

Just to get a clear picture here; you need to make use of Advanced Launch Options in order to play the games, on your system, via the EA app? And why is that exactly? Does your system not meet the minimum / recommended system requirements otherwise in order to run said game?
I see some comments about a specific resolution?

As people illustrated, Launch Options are used to modify a game's behavior for settings that are not necessarily exposed in the game options. To build a case for the development team, just compile a list from the replies on this topic. A variety of games/features are mentioned, from sims and dragon age to APEX
My current use case is for burnout paradise remastered, where it completely refuses to launch on windows 10 no matter what I try, and I can get it to run on my steam deck running ArchLinux up until the intro video that gets stuck on a black screen with a mouse cursor, which is a known issue with a known solution (using the '-skipvideos' launch option)
You will find that Launch Options are mandatory for running older games on modern hardware, as well as modifying a game's behavior for non-standard setups like the resolutions previously mentioned by other users.
Note: regardless of the state of Launch Options, please note that games bought through steam are unable to set Launch Options at all, and instead display a "managed by steam" non-clickable item in place of the game options inside of the EA Desktop App.
The compiled list of replies on this topic would provide a solid case as to why Launch Options are needed.
