EA Desktop straight out of the early 2000s,requires games to be install manually
As someone who doesn't actually hate Origin I've been criticizing this new launcher since the beta started, no offline mode, loads of missing features, bad UI, bunch of bugs, missing library entries and best of all my main gaming PC can't even run it as it's so broken either the setup fails or if it doesn't the thing never launches, this is after one and a half year after it's initial launch.
Game Pass subscribers are even more unlucky because at least I can access my library though Origin directly or Steam or even physical but they have to put up with this abomination but guess what It gets even worse.
Have a look at this, apparently now they go full early 2000s pre-Steam style with their downloads.

There are a small minority would like to scream launchers don't matter, games do, answer me this, how many hundreds of millions is this company making off fifa packs alone yet they can't hire competent programmers to make software that actually works and isn't 20 years out of date. I dislike most launchers, Origin was legit the one decent one beside Steam and GOG but even as useless as most others are they at least all install games themselves, I would've never imagined even that's not a "feature" to be taken for granted.
Before this it was "only" 11 years or so out of date compared to Origin, now with this the EA Download Manager might actually be more useful overall.
Making this post because I actually want it to be good unlike the people that run this company, I shouldn't have to even mention this but they clearly have no shame in putting out faulty products like this and that's just sad.
Hey @tyl0413 as the launcher is still in beta then many of the things you refer to are a result of this.
Not all games are currently supported on EA Play, offline mode has yet to be added and other features are still not there due to it being a beta.
As for the issue with The Godfather II, as that game pre-dates both Origin and EA Play and has never been available through either then the download options for it may be different than other more modern games.
