So yeah the only work around I was able to find for this is a less than ideal one. I contacted Xbox, as I have EA play through GamePass Ultimate. I explained the problem, which they are well aware of but can't really do anything about it as the EA desktop is a standalone app, they apologized, said they have been getting non stop complaints about the EA app since it launched as a feature that would be included in their service. They pointed out that it works flawlessly on the Xbox console but told me there is very little that they can do for PC users because although EA Play is included with GamePass Ulitmate for free, it also forces it's users to download the EA app, which they do not control. And well the EA Play app is basically the source of non stop bugs, some games work, some games don't, games experience crashes conflict with Windows applications, and all kinds of unpleasant things. They told me they had no idea when or if EA ever plans to fix all these issues. And considering I see posts on Reddit that date back years, all with the same problems, all not being addressed or requiring extensive workarounds, people you should not have to enter command controls and change around your security settings in order to make EA desktop games work. I use Xbox, Steam, GOG, etc., I have never had any problems with their service that were not addressed in a timely manner, the way I have with EA Play, it just does not seem to be a properly functioning Application, and considering it's been in beta for years now I think should tell you something. Granted, I have only personally tried using the service for the past month.
So Xbox refunded my GamePass subscription for this month and treated me to 6 unpaid months to their service as I have been a customer for a very long time. And the fix is to uninstall the EA app from your computer and never install it again. Sorry for all the sarcasm, but after doing research on this forum and on Reddit, and seeing how long this has been a consistent problem (and I should not a very fixable problem on the part of EA) it has put me in a rather sour mood. The only way anything is going to get done about these types of issues is if people start canceling their service and costing them money. Nothing against the admins on this forum, my beef is with software development. It's just completely ridiculous this is still an issue after all this time.
