I Can't install a game to EA app with cd

I'm having the same problem, but with a Sims 4 expansion. I try to install it, and it says to update origin, which isn't supported anymore. I want to install it with the cd and I can update it afterwards, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so. If games can't be installed by cd anymore, then the cds shouldn't be being sold.
