My BF1 Steam account replaced with EA lvl1 account after linking

I own both BF1 on steam and ea, but i played bf1 mainly on steam and bf4 on ea.

The problem is now that EA asked me to link Steam,  which i did, now my lvl1 BF1 account boots up everytime i start it from Steam. 

To unlink Steam from EA i must wait 27.01.2026, why in the World would i have to wait so long just to unlink?!?!

Im very confused with how that works, why cant i now play my progressed BF1 acc, it forces me to play from Scratch until next year when i can unlink again
