[Old Report] will the EA app ever be fixed to do what it is supposed to do?

seems no matter the game, this app can't launch it as intended.

it either goes into an admin rights loop and never opens the game, even after changing the settings for all the game .exe files to already be ran as administrator so it wouldn't need to ask does not fix this.

or the app claims games are already running when they are not if you try to launch a game even if there is nothing shown as running in the task manager.

restarting the EA background service does not fix this, fully killing the EA app via the task manager does not fix this.

the only work around I have found is to fully uninstall the EA app, clear the windows registry of all the EA app files.

reboot, then reinstall the app.

once that is done it will allow me to play only 1 game, then everything above begins again after the game is closed.

it perpetually claims the game is already running when it's not and will not launch it.

so basically, in order to play anything I have to uninstall the app, reboot, reinstall the app again just to play a game.

I would be sorry to say it, but you need to roll back to Origin until this app is truly fully working with no bugs.

stop updating games and fix the app, or allow users to go back to Origin so they can at least play their games again.

we have spent way too much money already for such a faulty game service.

  • Just download Crysis yesterday via Steam, it forced to play with EA but it keep on asking for admin permission, went through all the way to fix but keep on. Can't play the game now, EA app is not working.

  • @TheBorgShip It's been months since I get the exact same issue with EA App, the only way I found that works for me is to change the date to prior the moment when Origin became obsolete to launch my Origin games.

Can't seem to launch or download any game on EA App, even when I tried uninstalling and rebooting before. I uninstalled it for good, and won't install again, unless they fix it or if they ever disable Origin for good.

@cailozmamaykhang even with the non-steam version which worked for me with Origin; Crysis 3 won't work at all with the EA app; I get that exact same issue. Crysis via GoG works with 0 issues though fyi; so that's an option if you really want a drm/EA free copy.

Hey wanted to follow up on this and see if adding the EA App into your firewall settings, and your antivirus settings, or closing down the AV in general helps.

With it working on GOG for example but not the EA App, that leads me to believe the issue isn't game related but the way the EA App is launching the game.

Sometimes I get the Windows Admin pop up that says do you want to run this program on games I install.
