Re: Frosty Mod Manager with EA beta

EA Desktop doesn't support running games with CMD line args (which is a larger issue that not only affects modding games on the platform), so the only way is to set the modded datapath for the game in env variables.

Myself and a couple other modders made a batch file to enable/disable the env variable: https://pastebin.com/raw/JfudJp8Z (you can open any text editor such as notepad, paste this, and name it "anything".bat. By default it will be saved as a .txt file)

  • Nice, but where do we have to save the .bat file?  (EA, FMM or .... - folder?

    Thanks.

Is there a way to make this work with Mass Effect Andromeda?

  • Thanks for the update, a working fix for Andromeda in the future would be awesome!

  • Wow thanks for the fast reply, but sadly it's not working for me.

    - Andromeda - installed via EA Desktop

    -  Frosty MM - installed

    -  Your .bat is saved in my MEA folder

    - i run FMM as admin, check the mods and load order and click play on the modmanger.

Everything works, the game starts, Mod folder in my Game folder pops up, ...but no mods in game.

What are your steps to get it to work?

    Thanks.

Hey! So I just followed the steps from the pastebin, they are still there. If you can see the ModData folder in ME:A folder then FMM already got admin rights and set up the mod folder, so it should work fine after running the BAT file. It doesn't matter where you put the BAT file and you should only run it each time you want to enable/disable mods or switch games, so I have it on my desktop. But after running the BAT and using the new option I added (4), waiting for the box to close itself, I restarted my PC as suggested in the pastebin. Then went straight to FMM and launched from there. Did you run the BAT with option 4?

  • I've been needing to learn how to do actual programming other than batch and html and stuff so I decided to learn some basic C# and made a simple program to replace the batch file: https://github.com/Dulana57/FrostyFix

It includes MEA and BF1 aswell as both Battlefronts. Also has support to search for a game directory yourself so theoretically it should work with any other game that frosty supports

hi, is this .bat safe or idk man i am kinda weary about doing * like this lol im just worried about my pc

  • Yeah, not having CMD line args has completely broken Dragon Age: Inquision. Without command lines, big portions of the game are locked to 30 FPS.

@LFMEIDA So far I have no news about this too, I can't add mods with this steps for FIFA 20, I was asking in other posts about this and for a while no one knows about FIFA too.

FIFA 20 isn't possible with this method, same goes with Madden and Need for Speed Heat

  • @Dyviniaa Hello developers, I recently switched to EA BETA and found that the BF1 mod I made did not work through frosty mod editor, please ask what is the reason.🤔
