I wonder if any of the EA Software DEVs are reading any of these threads because EA App is complete junk. They should know better than to release software into the wild that was not adequately tested/integrated/quality controlled.

It is clearly not meant for PC games whatsoever. There are almost no features retained from Origin (which was working perfectly fine). This is clearly a console interface meant to work in conjunction with another service to manage friends, game-invites etc.
- @Mardoin69 I think they patched this out.
Yes, the put out another 'patch' to try an force you to 'upgrade' to the EA client. Just always close those update notices....either using whatever 'cancel' option they give or closing the client altogether. Then, re-open that 'local.xml' file and be sure these lines look correct (set to correct values) in the file.....
<Setting value="true" key="MigrationDisabled" type="1"/>
<Setting key="AutoPatchGlobal" value="false" type="1"/>
<Setting key="AutoUpdate" value="false" type="1"/>Then go through your PC folders and delete the files named: OriginThinSetupInternal.exe
They will be located in up to 3-4 locations as follows.....
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin
C:\ProgramData\Origin
C:\ProgramData\Origin\SelfUpdate\StagedC:\users\ whatever your user name is \AppData\Local\Origin and \Roaming\Origin..... check in both these locations for that file...can't remember which one I found it but, if it's in there delete it. That exe is trying to update the client so, get rid of it.
Should be able to launch / use Origin client normally again.
